The Abbeville County Development Board generates new capital investment and helps facilitate job creation within the County. The Development Board assists clients with site selection and development, workforce recruitment and training, information management, incentives and regulatory issues.
The Development Board also is actively involved in strategic planning, marketing the area, tourism and downtown revitalization efforts.
Founded in 1953, the Abbeville County Development Board is composed of 11 members of the Board of Directors and is staffed by a Development Services Director and Project Manager, who execute the day-to-day operations. Board members and staff are appointed by Abbeville County Council.
The Abbeville County Development Board of Directors provides oversight and guidance in achieving the Board’s objectives, as well as overseeing the Development Services Director and Project Manager.
